The bee was provided farsightedness by nature allowing bees to construct hexagonal cells for their hives.   There was a very important reason for the six sided cell. A group of round cylinders will not sit together snugly. There would be innumerable empty, and therefore, wasted spaces.

Round cells also would seem to be easier to make to, but this would have required much more work, and an extravagant waste of material, besides leaving empty spaces that would serve no purpose.

The hexagon, selected by nature, is the most economical shape possibly conceived.

No lost space

The hexagon cells nest together without the loss of space. As a hexagon has six sides, and six angles, every wall of every cell forms a part of the wall of a neighbouring cell; each cell a tiny room with three pairs of walls, and each wall is about 1/40 of an inch in thickness.

The hexagon of hundreds of completed honeycomb’s have been closely examined by scientists and found to be mathematically exact; each little room, or cell is exactly the size of the bee.

The hexagonal typography symbolises takes a nod to natures perfection.
